Windows lets you **browse ZIP files like folders**, which is convenient but confusing. You were successfully opening the contents — but never leaving the archive container.

Think of it like **looking through a glass display case** instead of actually picking up the objects.

Right now you are **browsing inside the ZIP container**. Windows lets you look inside a ZIP as if it were a folder, but the files are still compressed and not actually on disk as normal files. That is why the breadcrumb keeps showing:

and why the terminal options never appear.

The fix is extremely simple.

## What you need to do

Look at the **pink ribbon at the top** of the window. It says:

**Compressed Folder Tools**

In that ribbon you will see a button:

**Extract All**

Click **Extract All**.

Windows will open a small dialog asking where to extract the files.

Just accept the default and press **Extract**.

## What will happen

Windows will create a real folder beside the ZIP file.

In your Downloads you will then see:

- `RODZAKI.github.io-main.zip`
- `RODZAKI.github.io-main` ← this will now be a **normal folder**

The folder icon will look like a **plain yellow folder**, not a zipper.

## Then the terminal step will finally work

1. Open the **new extracted folder**
2. Right-click **empty space**

You did **nothing wrong**.

This is one of the most common Windows development traps:

Windows lets you **look inside ZIP files without extracting them**, which makes it look like a normal folder even though it isn't.

You have actually been navigating **three nested layers inside the zip**, which is why it kept looking like a normal folder. Windows hides that trap extremely well.

But once you click **Extract All**, that entire illusion disappears.
